The challenge

The shop owner wanted products to look better and lights to cost less to run, but could not close during the week. Some of the existing fittings were on a circuit shared with the apartment upstairs.

Our approach

  1. Lighting plan with general panels and adjustable track over display areas.
  2. Shared circuit separated so the shop and the apartment could be isolated independently.
  3. Work scheduled 06:00–09:30 so the shop opened on time every day.
  4. Old tubes and fittings collected for recycling.

Scope of work

  • Dimmable LED panels in the suspended ceiling
  • Two runs of adjustable track lighting over displays
  • Separate shop lighting circuit and new switching by the till
  • Emergency lighting checked and one fitting replaced

Outcome

The shop never closed, and the new lighting gives the owner separate control of display and general light.
