The challenge

The client was moving from cellular offices to an open layout with meeting rooms. Staff needed to keep working during the week, and the landlord required test records for the base-building system.

Our approach

  1. Survey of the existing distribution board and raised floor.
  2. Phased plan agreed with the client and the building manager.
  3. Distribution work done during weekend shutdowns; evenings used for final connections.
  4. Circuit schedules and test records handed to both client and landlord.

Scope of work

  • Floor boxes with power for 40 workstations
  • Dedicated circuits for meeting-room screens and the kitchen
  • Occupancy-sensor control for open-plan lighting
  • Updated distribution board schedule and test records

Outcome

Staff came back on Monday to a working floor each time, and the landlord received the documentation it required.
